We are aware that you place your trust in us. We regard it as our responsibility to protect your privacy. In this Privacy Statement, we explain what information we collect and why we collect it. This Privacy Statement applies to the services and/or products of SanoRice. By using our services, you agree to this Privacy Statement.
Personal Data
Personal data refers to any information relating to an identified or identifiable natural person. An identifiable natural person is someone who can be identified, directly or indirectly.
We are the world’s largest producer of rice, corn, and multigrain cakes. To provide our services and products, we process personal data.
We only process personal data that is necessary. For example, contact details such as name, email address, and telephone number. We process this personal data on the basis of a contract where a contractual relationship exists.
If there is not yet a contract in place, we may process contact details on the basis of a legitimate interest. This may apply, for example, when you use our website contact form. In addition, your name is processed on the basis of legitimate interest when you use our access control system.
In exceptional cases, such as the processing of photographs containing identifiable individuals, we will ask for your consent.
We may also process personal data where required by law. If you apply for a position at SanoRice, we handle your application data (including your CV) as follows:
- If you have applied but have not been hired, we will delete your personal data.
- If you have applied and we identify potential opportunities for you in the near future, we will request your written consent annually to retain your CV.
- If you have applied and become our new colleague, we will store your information in your personnel file.
The collected information is not accessible to everyone. Only employees and persons working on behalf of SanoRice have access to the data when necessary for the performance of their duties. The SanoRice website is maintained by De Indruk. For some of our vacancies, we work together with CATS. We have ongoing agreements with both parties to ensure that your privacy rights are safeguarded.

Communication
When you send us emails or other messages, we may retain those communications. This enables us to process your inquiries and respond to your requests. The information is stored securely and with due care.
Purpose of Data Processing
The personal data we process about you may be used for the following purposes:
- To perform a contract;
- To contact you;
- To prevent unauthorized access through our access control system;
- To deliver and invoice products or services ordered by you.
We do not collect or use information for purposes other than those described in this Privacy Statement unless we have obtained your prior consent.
Retention Period
Your personal data will be stored and processed for as long as necessary for the purpose of the processing and/or to comply with legal obligations.
Access Control System
- Activity logs are retained for 30 days.
- Inactive visitor records are retained for 180 days.

Right of Access
You have the right to know whether or not your personal data is being processed. You also have the right to obtain a copy of your personal data.
Right to Rectification, Erasure, and Restriction
You have the right to request that we correct, supplement, or delete your personal data. You may also request that we restrict the processing of your personal data. However, please note that if you request the deletion of your personal data, certain services and/or products may no longer be available to you.
Right to Object
Privacy legislation grants you the right to object to the processing of your personal data for serious and legitimate reasons. You also have the right to object at any time to the use of your personal data for direct marketing purposes, without having to provide a reason.
Right to Data Portability
You have the right to receive your personal data in a structured, commonly used, and machine-readable format and/or to transmit that data to another controller.
Right to Withdraw Consent
Where processing is based on your prior consent, you have the right to withdraw that consent at any time.
Right to Lodge a Complaint
If you have a complaint regarding a privacy violation, we would like to hear from you. We will do our best to resolve the matter as quickly and effectively as possible. If you are dissatisfied, you may contact us by telephone or in writing. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens) in The Hague.
Sharing Data with Other Countries and/or Third Parties
We are an international company with operations in the Netherlands, Belgium, Italy, and Poland. Where necessary, personal data may be exchanged between our locations. The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) applies in all countries in which we operate. Personal data will therefore be processed in accordance with the GDPR.
We will not share your personal data with third parties unless this is necessary. However, should it become necessary or desirable to share personal data with third parties, we will request your consent before transferring your data to other organizations. When transferring your data to third parties, we will make every effort to ensure an equivalent level of protection.
Security Measures
We have implemented security measures to protect your personal data in a manner that is reasonable and proportionate to the risks of loss, misuse, or unauthorized alteration. If, despite these measures, a situation arises in which your data is processed in an unauthorized manner or by unauthorized persons, we ask that you inform us as soon as possible so that we can take appropriate measures and limit any potential damage.
You must always comply with security requirements for protecting your own equipment and internet connection, including preventing unauthorized persons from gaining access to your login credentials. You are and remain responsible for the use of your computer, IP address, and identification data, as well as for maintaining their confidentiality.

This Privacy Statement has been tailored to the processing activities of SanoRice. Any adjustments and/or changes to our services and/or products may result in changes to this Privacy Statement.
